Writting test format

Overall

The IELTS Writting lasts 60 Minutes in total and consists of 2 parts. Task 1 is recommanded to take 20 Minutes and around 150 words, 8 - 12 pair of sentences, while Task 2 should take the remaining 40 minutes and around 250 words

What does Part One look like?

For the Academic test, Taks 1 requires you to describe and report visual data clearly and accurately. There are several types:

Data visuals (bar chart, table, pie chart, line graph) - these provide numberical information that you must describe, compare, and identify key trends. The data maybe static (fix at one point in time) or Dynamic (change over time). You will describe trends, highlight significant figures, make comparisons or identify what surpasses and ranks above orthers.

Process diagram — requires you to describe how something is made or how a process occurs, following a chronological step-by-step sequence.

Map — provides 2 or more maps and asks you to describe how the area has changed or how the two maps differ.

Regarding Part Two ?

Task 2 requires you to write an essay experssing your own ideas and arguments. Unlike Taks 1, there is no visual data - Instead, you are given a statement or question and must respond with well-structured, supported oponion.

There are serveral common essay types in Task 2:

Agree or disagree - showing your thought agree or disagree and tell explain why.

Advatages or Disadvatages - discuss both the benefits and drawbacks of a topic

Cause and Solution - idenfify the causes of proplem and suggest possible solutions

Problem and Solution - identify problems cause by issues and propose solutions.

Outweigh - decide whether the advantages outweigh disadvantages or vice versa

Discussion - present both sides of an agrument and give your opponion

Two-part question - Anwser two seperate but related questions within one essay
