Present General
WHY does this matter to you?
You use this every single day — without even knowing it.
WHAT situations use this?
Solving almost every real-life communication need: telling the world who you are, what you do for a living, what your habits are, and stating facts.
WHEN — The Present Tense has 4 types:
To state facts, truths, or habits → Simple Present I'm Peter. I'm cold. You're late again.
To describe what is happening right now → Present Continuous I'm writing a blog about English grammar. That dog is wagging its tail.
To talk about something that has already happened → Present Perfect The rain has already stopped. They have already fixed the bugs. I've done it.
To talk about something that started in the past and is still continuing now → Present Perfect Continuous I've been writing this blog for two hours. She has been waiting since morning.
